The minimalist, melancholic pieces on his new solo album recall the neoclassical music of Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds. Lőrinc Barabás (as his stage name, he uses Barabás Lőrinc in Hungarian name order) is a highly active and prolific performer, with recordings that continue to chart new innovative directions. Since 2007, he has released twelve albums with his different bands and as a solo artist. In recent years, two of his works for symphony orchestra (Metamorphosis, 2019; Game, 2022) have been premiered, opening up new horizons for him in contemporary classical music.

In his solo live act, he uses the trumpet, piano, synths, loop station and sound modulators to perform his contemporary, partly improvisational compositions. At times,he creates a meditative atmosphere; at others, he weaves a more rhythmic fabric, moving towards dance or electronica but never turning his back on jazz or classical playing. His multi-instrumental performance is worth listening to and watching, as it is spectacular and unique.
