Frida and Diego:

Art, Passion, Pain

Frida Kahlo believed that she had suffered two major accidents in her life: the first at the age of eighteen when the bus she was traveling on collided with a tram, leaving her severely injured; the second was meeting Diego Rivera, one of the most outstanding Mexican artists of his time. Their life together was a constant emotional rollercoaster. Diego both fueled Frida’s passion and motivated her to create, while also plunging her into the deepest depths of suffering. The lecture, held in Hungarian, delivered by Adriána Lantos, art historian at the Museum of Fine Arts who was the curator of the 2018 exhibition dedicated to Frida Kahlo, will explore the imprints of this inspiring and tumultuous interplay in Frida Kahlo’s body of work.
