Frida Kahlo:
an Icon of Mexican Art

Lecture

Diva, model, painter — a woman who is at once unmistakably unique and profoundly Mexican: she is Frida Kahlo. For her, art is like speech — she expresses her emotions and everything that words cannot convey through images. Alongside this, the rich cultural and natural heritage and traditions of Mexico also play a central role in her paintings. Adriána Lantos, art historian, staff member of the Museum of Fine Arts, and curator of the 2018 exhibition dedicated to Frida Kahlo, will explore in her lecture the relationship between the artist and her homeland through her works.
